Easy waterfall album card Come sail away.

I just love things with more than one use. Today's project is a card ...with a little something extra. On the outside it is the size and look of a regular card, but inside we have pockets and a waterfall mini album section . Double bubble !

Here we used the Come Sail away suite from Stampin' Up!. A great nautical collection perfect for any occasion AND non gender specific..hurrayyyy.

Meausrements

Album base cut card to 8 x 8" score at 4" turn and score at 5 1/4"

fold in half and from spine side and at the bottom section measure in 1/2" and cut up to the score line remove this strip.

Cut the small right hand side flap down to 1 1/4"

For double inside pocket section cut card to 3 1/2 x 2 3/4" score on long side and one short side at 1/2" cut across where lines meet at an angle ( see youtube tutorial)

Cut 5 pieces at 3 1/2 x 3 3/4" for the waterfall pieces. Score each on the long side at 1/2"

Belly band cut card 8 1/4 x 1 3/4" adjust if desired I do mine by eye just wrapping around the project ensuring the fit is not too tight.

For all DSP ( paper ) layers simply measure the area and reduce size by 1/4" on two sides.

Scrunchy foil technique for cardmaking.

I always say there is always something new to learn and I constantly seek out and enjoy trying new techniques to create custom inked backgrounds for card making. Today's technique is inspired by one we were shown at the recent Stampin' Up! event and I couldn't wait to get home to try it out. 

So we were shown a technique with cling film/ shrink wrap/ cellophane dependent on where you live it may be called something else. But imagine my despair when I found there wasn't any in the house...so I had to think as I don't give up easy. I saw the cooking foil in my drawer and thought hmmmm I wonder..... 

Well I did the same technique and can say it worked just as well with the foil. Simply scrunch a piece up, add drops of ink and smoosh on your card front. Now I will say you can spray with water first. I didn't do this as I wanted a strong colour result . I did add some drops of shimmer paint which gave a stunning effect. After drying the card with my heat tool I added a die cut sentiment backed onto card and hey presto.

Now the great appeal of making your own inky backgrounds is that no two are ever the same. Your card is unique in a world where sometimes lots of cards look exactly the same these stand out. Plus its fun !!

Baby wipe technique with Beauty Abounds.

I love when I can get messy with my crafting and this technique is awesome. Its not new but its new to me as this is the first time I tried it. And the results are exciting. I was taught this technique by one of my team members at a team meeting I held. Sandra Riley taught all of us that day how exactly to do this techniques and I can tell you there were lots of Ooooo's and ahhhh's. So here is me finally having a try for myself.

I used three re inkers at random from the subtles collection . Getting yourself the re inkers is a great investment because not only do they you know .. re ink your ink pads and markers... you can have heaps of fun with them too.

I ended up picking Blushing bride, pool party and Highland heather dripping them onto two folded baby wipes and watching the splodges spread together. Then you use it like an ink pad , you do need to smoosh the stamp about a bit and press on hard to ensure good ink coverage on your stamp. Then when you stamp ... its like magic and you have this multi colour look on your image... its fantastic you MUST TRY IT !

Easy floral thank you card.

What better way to say thank you than with this beautiful hand made card. I know when I received the top card in the photo I was blown away. It came from a lovely lady named Tricia Smith who recently joined my team... it was her thanks for being welcomed and for her welcome gift.

Easy box card #100things

After a long time wanting to try this style of card I finally gave it a go. And wow what fun these are awesome to make and actually so easy I wish I tired it years back.

I used the awesome one for all stamp set, its linked below, what a great set so versatile and this particular stamp just jumped out at me so i created it over and over and fussy cut the image to create my card.

This card is so easy to make its almost embarrassing doing a tutorial but I always figure someone out there like me may think its complicated and not try it so here we are... If I can encourage just one crafter to try this card my job here is done.

Measurements
Cut base 4" by full length of UK A4 I used Cherry cobbler. Sore on the long side at 2 , 5 1/2, 7 1/2 and 11" turn and score on short side at 2" but avoid scoring one of the larger panels... if you watch my video you will see why.
Cut two or three strips at 4 1 1/2" score each end at 1/4"these are for inside.
Cut flaps and construct card as per my youtube video
Cut white panels 1/4" shorter on each side than the card sections.. simply measure with ruler then knock off 1/4", repeat this process with DSP .

Vellum panel card with gift inside.

I am especially proud of this project as I think it turned out just beautiful. When I started I was simply colouring panels of the Graceful Glass DSP with my Stampin' Blends...I had no Idea at that stage what I would make with them.

I honestly believe the Stampin' Blends and vellum are a match made in heaven it is so super easy to colour on this type of medium and the colours blend beautifully. The colour lifting pen works especially well giving a great appearance of light to the flowers in the panels.

So we basically have a gatefold card with two of my coloured panels on each front section. My other two panels I turned into beautiful bookmarks. These are stored inside the card in a purpose made pocket... a card and gift in one .

I am so loving doing this challenge #scrimpyscardswap gives me so much joy. I get to meet new creators from all over the world as they share their beautiful work with me and in turn I can share with you. Then I get to send them one in return ...what a joy.

Todays card is a pure delight. Both cute and colourful and really well made. All the way from Alabama this card was created by the talented Pam Farr.
