Easy mini album tutorial, Forever Greenery

Over the last week I have completed a set of three videos sharing how to make this pretty 6 x 6 mini Album. I Love how this book turned out and think it is a great one for beginners. The binding is simple and the measurements are consistent throughout making it easy to follow.

MEASUREMENTS

Pages 12 x 6" scored at 6" .. I used pre made card bases. paper layer 5 3/4 x 5 3/4" on full pages. pocket pager paper layer is slightly less at 5 5/8 x 5 5/8"so it sits inside pocket area.

Binding strips 1 x 6^ scored at 1/2" one for each page

Pockets 6 3/8 x 2 1/2" I made 12 score on two short and one long side at 1/4" fold over to anchor to book. Paper layer 5 5/8 x 2"

Photo mates 5 1/4 x 5 1/4" paper layer 5 x 5"

Forever Greenery fancy fold, facebook live project

Yesterday I started a new series on my Facebook Business page Scrimpy's Stampin closet. Every other Sunday I will be sharing a project with you LIVE. I am calling this slot 'easy like Sunday morning live'. This Sunday I created a lovely fancy fold using Forever Greenery suite which I absolutely love !!

I am super please how pretty this turned out. I knew in my head what I wanted to achieve and this is pretty close. I love how the dies co-ordinate with the stamped images. This means you are able to cut them out real easy and build great clusters as the focal point for your card. 

The colours are outstanding too the green tones are deep and rich, yet bright and uplifting.

I did save my Facebook live and have it on my YouTube for you to watch this fun live shares the creation of the card from beginning to end.

Measurements

Card base 11 7/8 x 41/8" score at 5 7/8" fold in half then fold top layer back over in half.

Front card base 3 1/8 x 4 7/8" white layer 3 x 43/4"

DSP for main panel of card 4 x 5 3/4" DSP for folded front panel 2 7/8 x 4"

Prized peony custom made stationary set

Hand made gifts are the most fun to make and the receiver will be trilled if you create and send one of these beautiful stationary sets. I created this set for a blog hop and did promise to return with a tutorial and measurements so here we are.

The cover is simply layered with dip and then the focal point is just one of the stunning flowers created with the prized peony bundle dies.

As you can see here we have layers the inside with dsp and the pockets are lined too. Our standard c6 envelopes fit in here nicely and we also have custom stamped writing paper, and to the right we have a notepad every page stamped too. The bundles are tied up with hand coloured seam binding for an extra special touch.

I do hope you will give this project a whirl, it doesn't take long to make and as you ca see the results are fantastic.

Measurements

Folder 11 1/2 x 8 1/4" on long side score at 1/4 - 1/2 - 5 1/2 - 6 - 11 - 11 1/4"

turn and on short side score at 1 1/2 - 1 3/4"

Fastening strap and buckle I cut by eye but around 1 1/2" wide to your desired length will be enough.

DSP is cut either 1/4 or 1/2" smaller than panned sizes to layer.

Bloom and Grow pencil coloured thank you card.

I really do get great enjoyment from colouring beautiful stamped images with my colouring pencils. The outcome is not only beautiful and original, it is calming and mindful something many of us can benefit from especially just now in or crazy world with Covid19.

I treat myself to a large pack of varied coloured pencils a few days back and used these on this card. They aren't watercolour pencils just standard ones out what lovely colours I was very please.

I used the Stamping' Up! Bloom and grow stamp set and the THANKS comes from Ornate thanks. Together they create a lovely card. 

I created the square centre by cutting scrap card to 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 " and attached with a removable glue dot. Then as I stamped this acted as a mask. Once removed I used a black finaliser to draw out the square.

I had stamped in smokey slate in then decided it was too subtle so like a crazy lady I went around the entire image with a black fine liner. I could have just stamped again in black but the fine liner gave me such a sharp and fine outline it was worth the extra work.

I hope you will try this design for yourself and try colouring it really is calming for the mind.

Team Scrimpy blog hop, Annual catalogue favourites

Here we are again blog hopping as a team. This month some of Team Scrimpy and I are showcasing our firm favourites from the NEW Stampin' Up! catalogue. My favourite HAS to be the Peony Garden suite. It truly is beautiful. From the stamps to the beautiful dies to the subtle and wonderful Designer series paper. This suite ticks all the boxes for me.

For todays Team Scrimpy hop I created a stunning stationary set and carry folder. All using Peony Garden. Today is a show and tell I will share a video tutorial and measurements on Monday.

So this pretty folder has a strap and buckle style fastener and is decorated with one of the 3d Peony flowers. I added a pretty stickpin and some hand dyed seam binding for a special touch.

we have two pockets inside holding stationary. The stationary is had created using the Prized peony stamp set.

I added envelopes custom writing paper and a notebook each page having stamped detail. In all a stunning set to create and gift.

Tastefull Touches easy spotlight stamping

A simple twist on the spotlight stamping technique today. I have simplified the technique so a brand new stamper could create this card. The basic idea being we stamp a background and then in one way or another highlight one are of the stamped back ground.

We achieve the spotlight effect here by stamping the same image on a scrap piece in a slightly darker shade. This is then cut out and added to the card raise up on dimensional. To slightly step up the idea I stamped two simple leaf flourished just behind where our raised image was to be placed.

Easy, effective and using minimal supplies if you are new to Stamping this card is easy for you to re create.

Simple stamping with Forever Fern from Stampin' Up!

I do love the ease and freshness of simple stamping. Forever Ferm .AVAILABLE NOW !! yayyyy makes Simple stamping even easier and a pure joy. This stamp set is a pure joy to use as its a DIST INK TIVE stamp .. exclusive to Stampin' Up! it adds shaded tones to your image which is just divine.

As you can see we have a 3d look to our stamping. We don't need very much else as the stamps o all the work. I choose thee colours which I will list below. I find keeping to three makes it easier and less chance of a clash.

Add a strip of Pretty Peacock card and a pretty sentiment and that is all you need.

Fun slide and lock fancy fold card tutorial

How cool is this card !! .. it has a fun' locking mechanism' you can slide up and off the card to open it. I saw a crafter named Nicola Mason use this technique in a journal she made and shared on a journal page I follow. The second I saw it I had to try it. A great idea to add to your repertoire as it were and useful for lots of crafty projects. Watch my YouTube video below to see how it works AND how its made.

I used the beautiful Stampin' Up! Flowers for every season papers, bright bold and fun. I also used the brand new stamp and punch bundle which goes with the paper... Jar of flowers. THER most fun suite we even have mason jar shaped clear shaker domes. Imagine the fun you can have with this cute Stamp and punch bundles are budget friendly and my go to crafty collectable.

Measurements

Cut card to 5 7.8" 11"score at each end at 2 3/4 then take one end and trim an extra tiny sliver from the 5 7/8 end I choose the left flap … just a tiny amount to aid the locking mechanism to slide easier.

cut two dsp ( patterned paper) panels for each front flap to 5 5/8 x 2 1/2" 

Locking mechanism … cut four 4 x 4" squares, score two at 2 " fold in half. Put the folded pieces spine to spine and glue to one of the 4 x 4 squares. Glue the last 4 x 4 square on top.

Centre part dsp layer cut to 3 3/4 x 3 3/4".

Magenta madness card square cut to 3 x 3 " layer with 2 5/8 x 2 5/8 stitched square die or plane cut square.
