Fun ' locked' notebook design.

After being massively inspired by a 3d project I saw on the recent Stampin' Up! Greek incentive trip I had an adaptation floating around in my head. Today I finally got to fishing it out of there and on to my craft desk. What I came up with is a simply decorated notebook with a cover which locks into place with a pretty butterfly.
The concept isn't new but I took the idea and made it my own. I just love the craft / crumb cake card against the black. I think it is an elegant timeless combination.
So as you likely can see you pull up the wings of the butterfly so it slips out of the punched slot, thus unlocking the notebook ..what fun.

I have a fun and full step by step YouTube video for you to follow along to so you can create one yourself. These are fun to make and you can adapt the size to fit whatever notebooks you have to hand or can get local to you.

So why not grab a fresh cool drink … its super hot in the UK right now... and come sit in the cool and watch the video.

Simple cards showcasing Stampin' Up!'s new in colours.

I have to start by saying ..you are going to LOVE the new Stampin' Up! in colours. These five colours are with us from 4th June and I just know you will love them. I created some simple frugal cards to show you each colour.
The new colours slot into our current colour solutions perfectly. We have Rocco Rose, Terracotta Tile, Purple Posy, Pretty peacock and Seaside Spray. I used the new 6x6 DSP available as a pack with a collection of each colour in. I took a small 3 x 3" square punched using Butterfly gala punch, used the butterflies on one card and the negative space on another... pretty results with very little paper.
There will be the ink pads, re inkers, Paper, card stock, ribbons, markers and much more available come June 4th . I find most people buy the inks all together and many get the card and the paper too as their first purchase from the new catalogue since they know these are around for a good two years !!!

I have a fun and fast YouTube video sharing my card today so why not grab a fresh drink, pull up a comfy chair and enjoy the video. I will link all the items used below for you to browse and shop with ease.

Baby wipe technique with Beauty Abounds.

I love when I can get messy with my crafting and this technique is awesome. Its not new but its new to me as this is the first time I tried it. And the results are exciting. I was taught this technique by one of my team members at a team meeting I held. Sandra Riley taught all of us that day how exactly to do this techniques and I can tell you there were lots of Ooooo's and ahhhh's. So here is me finally having a try for myself.

I used three re inkers at random from the subtles collection . Getting yourself the re inkers is a great investment because not only do they you know .. re ink your ink pads and markers... you can have heaps of fun with them too.

I ended up picking Blushing bride, pool party and Highland heather dripping them onto two folded baby wipes and watching the splodges spread together. Then you use it like an ink pad , you do need to smoosh the stamp about a bit and press on hard to ensure good ink coverage on your stamp. Then when you stamp ... its like magic and you have this multi colour look on your image... its fantastic you MUST TRY IT !

I do have a step by step video for you to watch and products used are listed below. Be sure and leave me a comment today to be in with a chance to win some blog candy. Also I am using this project as inspiration for the members of our Stampin' For All Facebook Forum why not come along and join us ? just click >> HERE TO JOIN.

So sit back and relax and watch the video.

Hand stamped box using NEW Butterfly gala bundle.

So today marks the start of my sharing the new products with you due out in January. One of my absolute favourite is the Butterfly Gala bundle.. a stunning stamp set with a co-ordinating punch. Yayy for beautiful butterflies and hurray for punches, a winning combo for me.

At a recent team retreat I held with some of my team, one of my ladies the lovely Karen Egan had hand stamped a box with this set and I was so impressed with it I decided to give it a try. My box is a totaly different shape and size but I was inspired by her to do a hand stamped background. The colours are so juicy and fresh .... it is realy making me look forward to summer with these sunshine colours !

Now my box was made to hold a special something...if you watch my video you will see what it is. But you could use this box for lots and lots of things. When assembled it measures 4 x 3 x 2" so a great size.

I can see me using this set an awful lot I havent put it down in three days Im fully in love. As I say these are available from january 3rd to customers. If you need a catalogue go to my catalogue request page above and fill the form. I have left you the measurements for this simple box and here is the set by step video tutorial. So go grab a brew, get comfy and warm and enjoy.
