Bloom And Grow hand coloured birthday card

Floral birthday or thank you cards are always popular. I created todays card using Bloom and Grow from Stampin' Up!. A bright cheery set and changing up the colours means you can make any card for any occasion. 

 I simply stamped and coloured with Stampin' Blends Alcohol markers and watercolour markers. The colours are Purple Posy, Calypso Coral, So Saffron and Pear Pizzaz. The splash of Calypso Coral clashes yet complements the Purple tones. And not by accident I gleaned that colour combo from the Stampin' Up! 2019 annual catalogue, a great too when I loose my mojo.

I think the new Purple posy is a super soft and pretty colour. I used the same colour as the background for my photo here so you can really see just how lush it is.

Stampers showcase blog hop ...Birthday card

Today I am joining the Demonstrators from around the world whom all take part in the monthly Stampers Showcase Blog Hop. Our theme this month is birthdays. I am on a simple classic kinda vibe the last few days and so came up with another clean elegant style card to share with you.

I used the hostess set Very Vintage to stamp my background here and used Cherry Cobbler Ink. To keep it simple I used the same colour card stock. 

So I created a random stamped background on half my card front and masked the lower half off. After stamping was complete I ran my card front through my big shot using one of the Delicate Lace Edgelits dies. Such a mouthful of a name but way worth it because the set is absolutely stunning.

I tidied up my join where the stamping ends with a 3/4" strip of the same card. I added a faux dot stitched edge using a white gel pen. As the card is a busy pattern I opted for a clean and simple sentiment from the same stamp set and simply punched out using the Classic label punch.

I love the simple, timeless look of this card and particularly love the detail in this floral stamp. I really enjoyed making this card for the blog hop and urge you to hop along following the links to see some great inspiration.

Fun Animal outings envelope card

Just how much fun is this card ? An envelope pull tab birthday card... want to see how its made ?

                                      

I'm not good at naming my cards hence the long winded title. But I think I hit the nail on the head here pairing up the fab and FREEEEE Painted season DSP (now available on its own with a purchase of £45.00 or over) with the Animal Outing stamp set. These are a match made in heaven. 

As you can see here the card is single faced and slots beautifully into this decorated open ended envelope. Created on the envelope punch board, I often wonder where I would be without this amazing tool. 

So I stamped all the animals in the set, coloured and fussy cut them, a task well worth doing I may add. The sentiment on the front is from the same set and backed on the new sale a bration co-ordination punch called Story label punch which is ONLY available through march 2019. 

The card inside is created simply with card, dsp and more card, the sentiment here comes from a great set called One For All. Adding a little faux stitching and a frog on a branch ... yes a frog on a branch .... just finished it nicely. Adding the tab at the top using the circle tab punch, urges the recipient to " pull" out the contents.

I really had fun creating this card. it is a "blog exclusive" so no YouTube video, who wants to see me fussy cut and colour a kangaroo ? ... but I think the pictures give you plenty of inspiration.

envelope ...cut dsp to 8 1/4 x 8 1/4' using envelope punch board place at 3 3/8" mark punch and score  follow score lines punch and score all four sides to make envelope.
Card base cut card to 4 1/8 x 5 7/8"

Floating sentiment card...

I am really trying to step out of my comfortable subtle pink palace ... I tend to lean towards pink an awful lot in my crafting and really ? there are other colours Amanda! So I am really trying to add more colour range. Its not easy for me but here we have some Green tones and some pretty Daffodil delight yellow.

I just love Garden Impressions DSP and used it here to line the inside of my card and used small amounts on the front. The idea here is we have a large peep hole so the DSP shows through. A fantastic DSP pack as there are many colour possibilities with the bright and varied patterns.

My peep hole has a ....floating sentiment ....what fun ! To create this I use the happy thinlit from the Merry Christmas set. I cut three and layered them, then attached it carefully to a thin strip of acetate which I sandwiched between my peephole and its outer thinlit scalloped boarder. Sounds fancy but its pretty basic.

I felt we needed a bit more to break up the white so reached for my trusty bitty blooms punch... perfect for when you just need a little something . I punched six flowers in white inked the edges in Mango Melody and added green enamel dots to each to make them pop a little.

A really lovely card I do hope you will give it a try. The "floating" on acetate idea could be used for anything if you just add some imagination.
