First Frost simple stamping #SIMPLESTAMPING

One realy great, yet simple stamping technique is layering...all this means is simply stamping colours on top of each other. Its a beautiful way for beginners to advance their stamping and the more skilled to realy shine through with their card making. Stamping here is made simple as we just have paper and ink ...clean and simple with no fuss.

The only thing to think is to have lighter colours at the bottom of the layer and darker as your top. That way all the colours are still seen. Pick colours that compliment with one bold or striking colours as your focus. You will see my bolder colour here is Gorgeous grape in the larger flower. It realy is that simple Layering the card stock with a similar shade to your focus colour will make it stand out even more and realy help blend those colours nicely.

I hope you will give this card a try for yourself. I do have a quick fun YouTube video for you to watch and follow along to. All products used are listed below along with measurements. So go grab a brew, get comfy and enjoy the video.

Celebrate you .....

I was super excited to se the celebrate you thinlits carry over to the new annual catalogue. These are perfect for a card to celebrate any occasion you care to. Here the idea was celebrating someones achievement with the addition of the 'you did it' sticker.

The colour scheme here is Mint macaron, Grapefruit grove and Fresh fig. These colours were are the guidelines for last weeks Global design project colour challenge. I love this challenge as there are so many fantastic projects to see, however I often miss the deadline so here we are sharing the card I made ... but missed the bus as it were !!

I used the Delicate details memories and more cards here, using a laser cut detail card as a stencil for my backgrounded the sticker sheets held the simple but effective ' you did it'.

Inside another complete memories and more card was simply adhered to a layered background... these memories and more cards are great for creating fast yet awesome cards. See how this one has a watercolour wash look to it... amazing.

I hope you enjoyed this card and take a good look at the Delicately detailed Memories and more cards.

Celebrating Sale-A-Bration Global Design Project #127

Today I am celebrating two of my favourite Sale-A-Bration freebies. I adore our copper foil sheet and so when I saw the Springtime foils had copper in the design I was delighted. I think this years free items have been especially pretty and I love how some items we get to keep. The Celebrate you thinlits are one such rarity...a Sale-A-Bration item we get to see carry over into the new catalogue in June.

This weeks Global Design project theme is Sale-A-bration so what a perfect excise to show off these beautiful products. I created a very simple no fuss card, yet the products and the copper foiling make it look special.

My card is standard 11 1/2" x 4 1/8" scored at 5 3/4" to form the base. I then cut a sheet of the Springtime foils which measured 5 3/4" x 4 1/8" and sliced out a 1 3/3" mid section ... just enough for a tiny copper foil strip and a sentiment, also cut from copper foil.

In all i think a clean cut elegant look. i do hope you will give this card a try yourself. All products used are listed below. Also please do go over to the Global design Project blog and check out the other entries via this link

Celebration card with custom colour ribbon

This week I had a batch of cards I needed to send out to my team who are totally awesome. So I designed this pretty card using the Amazing you Sale-A-bration free stamp set. I adore this set and have used it lots.

I wanted a fresh bright colour and a colour I haven't used much is Tempting Turquoise. Such a beautiful shade of blue. I love how Stampin' Up! products match so I can be confident my projects look great without too much thinking.

I didn't however have a ribbon in the same shade, so I made my own. There are a lot of ladies showing how the Stampin' Blends colour ribbon just now but I used my Many marvellous markers. We have a wider colour range in these and they colour ribbon just perfect. The only difference being it takes longer to dry and can print on your hands but whats inky fingers ? except a sign of a happy crafter, the colour doesn't spread onto the card once dry.

So I was able to take the silver metal edge ribbon and make bows in the exact same shade as my card and my ink ... gotta love the many marvellous markers they are worth three weight in gold.

I hope you enjoy this project and will give it a try. I do have a Youtube tutorial for you to craft along to. Products used are listed below. You can shop with me any time by clicking my shop now button to the right side of the page. So grab a brew, get comfy and enjoy the video.
