Sturdy no glue fold flat giftbox.

Pretty boxes for pretty things are one of my favourite things to craft. I love unusual types and ones which are fold flat boxes perfect for easy storage until they are needed. Today I am sharing my latest such box and showing you how to make one of these at home.

When complete this useful pretty hand made gift box measures 2 3/8" x 2 1/4" x 2" or approximately 6cm x 5.7cm x 5cm. Constructed simply from white card layered with panels of Petal Pink card stock and Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series paper. The subtle colours in the papers are mimicked in the Petal pink and white variegated ribbon and the pretty sentiment stamped in Petal Pink ink. The sentiment comes from the A good day Stamp set and the punched shapes which hold it are scalloped circle punches...I will leave links to everything below.

Measurements

( please note I create in inches so all cm measurements are approximate by conversion )

Cut card to 10 3/4" x 7 1/8" (or 27.3cm x 18.1)
Score on the long side at 2 1/4" - 4 1/4"- 6 1/2" - 8 1/2" (or 5.7cm - 10.8cm - 16.5cm - 21.6cm)
Score on the short side at 3/8" - 2 3/8" - 4 3/4" - 6 3/4" ( or 10cm - 6cm - 12.7cm - 17.5cm)
To decorate you will need
3 x card stock for each end and middle panels cut to 2 1/8" x 2 1/4" ( or 5.4cm x 5.7cm) DSP layers cut to 2"x 2 1/8" ( or 5.1cm x 5.4cm).
2 x card stock cut for each side panel cut to 2 1/8" x 1 7/8" ( or 5.4cm x 4.8cm) DSP layers cut to
1 3/4" x 2" or ( 4.4 x 5.1cm).
2 x card stock for inner middle panels cut to 1 7/8" x 2 1/4" (or 4.8cm x 5.7cm). DSP layers cut to
1 3/4" x 2 1/8" ( or 4.4cm x 5.4cm).

Fold flat gift box with a pop of colour

Here we have a super beautiful AND useful box. Finished dimensions are 3x6x2"a great gift box size. The way this is constructed is not a new idea, indeed I was directly inspired by my latest box of MAC makeup which came is a similar box, just bigger.

So I reduced the sizing and came up with this one and you can make two of the main body from a 12 x 12 sheet. I do love the fold flat box design as you can ..well ... fold them flat. Great to make in bulk ahead of time and store until needed.

I just adore black and white. But I love it even more with a tiny pop of colour. Here I used Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and Berry Burst to just give the black colour a bit of a wow. And an extra wow is the stunning stamp and sentiment taken from the petal pallet set from Stampin' Up! A stunning box yet so simple ANYONE can create it.
