Team Scrimpy blog hop Under My Umbrella

Today I am blog hopping with some of my team to share ideas using products from or new Spring/ Summer catalogue.

I must admit I got distracted and kinda left this a tad late and in a blind panic chose the first set to hand. The awesome under my umbrella bundle. As you may know I love stamp and punch bundles so this for me is a must. The co-ordination is perfect. Punches are less hassle for me thank dies and great for those who don't have a die cutting machine... I love to collect punches they are my guilty pleasure.

 I used watercolour techniques on my card. Doing a smooshed background, flicking paint over the top than adding stamped, water coloured then punched out elements.

The sentiment is one stamp which once stamped out I separated in three parts. The border around each is created using a scrap of card dipped in black ink a simple technique to make the words stand out. The wellies are coloured with stampin blends then fussy cut. I think it looks effective. Hope you like it too and will give it a try.

I couldnt be more proud ... team promotion card

I sat creating this lovely card last night...fussy cutting the elements pondering whom the recipient would be. Then I awoke this morning to find one of my amazing ladies on my team had promoted to Bronze Elite. I think this card was just made for her ...I just didn't know it at the time... fate !

I combined a current set Beautiful promenade with a new set Strong and Beautiful where my sentiment is taken from. This set is out 3rd of January and has the most uplifting sentiments within , and it uplifts your own spirit knowing your sending a special card which hopefully will lift the recipient.

I did hand cut all the elements..we all have a budget and sometimes I forfeit the ease and precision of thinlits to give me more for stamps. This set was not to difficult to cut and I find it quite a mind full task now I am practised at it.

I layered very vanilla over a petal pink card base adding a torn strip of petal promenade paper. I then added a torn vellum layer... a popular technique for me as I love the softness it gives...almost a dreamy look. The sheer Old olive ribbon is simply wound around then tied in the centre ..I did cheat and create the bow separate and glue it on ! Then I added my sentiment and my stamped and cut elements using dimensionals beneath the petals to make it look almost padded. The stamen in the centre are accentuated with a gelly roll iridescent glitter gell pen and in the hand it twinkles softly.

Beautiful you paper piecing.

I revisited the Beautiful You stamp set today to case one of the ladies on my team, Valerie. We had an in team challenge where we cased one another names were drawn at random and I was paired with Valerie. Valerie is new to my team and as yet had no social media links to share but here is a photo of the card she created for me to case.

Valerie used the Hand delivered stamp set and Highland Heather ink. I don't have this set so changed it up by using the Beautiful You set, I did stick to the same colour and set it on a white background. I tried my had at some paper piecing which is a really fun technique.

I do hope Valerie likes my CASE of her beautiful card and i can't wait to take part in this in team challenge again next month.
