I make heaps of treat bags for one reason and another and thought today I would share one along with my top frugal tip for creating windows.
I used the awesome How sweet it is suite from Stampin' Up!. The DSP is such fun with great elements to cut out and use. My cupcake and lollipop here are cut from the papers .. aren't they cute ? My sentiment and frame comes from the Sweetest thing stamp set. There are co-ordinating thinlits making cutting easier... I chose to fussy cut mine as I find it therapeutic ... I'm a little crazy that way.
So window... here is my top tip. Rather than use acetate or window sheet which is actually pretty costly, use a piece cut from a cello bag. They type us crafters always have to hand. For a treat bag its way more economical and the cello bag is more flexible too.
I cut my window and the frame to finish it off using layered ovals framelits. A great basic which I use a lot.
To finish the bag I used my pinking shears and I also did score little lines on the top and bottom to look like a real sweet or crisp bag. I added the sweets then sealed the top. You could easily adjust the size of this and the type of closure too.
I do have a quick step by step video on my treat bag so you can see how you can make one too.
Measurements and products used are listed below. Don't forget right now if you spend £45 or over you can claim a free item from the sale-a-bration catalogue making your money go that little bit further.
For now, go grab a warm brew, get comfy and enjoy the video.
Happy Stamping xxx Amanda
