I have to say Monday crept up on me this week I was neither prepared or welcoming for the day and my mind is still firmly tucked up cosy and warm, snoozing away pretending its still the weekend. But the week must starts and today I have started it with a LARGE coffee and a card. This is also the name for my Monday series on my youtube channel. Today I created a pretty card using the Petals and paisleys paper and in particular one of the copper foiled sheets. This paper stack is truly beautiful with some really luxurious colours not normally colours I would choose but I am in love with this paper with its warm and extravagant colours.
I started with a very basic very vanilla card base cut at 11" x 8" then scored at 5 1/2 " to fold the card in half. A layer was then cut from the foiled petals and paisleys paper cutting at 3 3/4" x 51/4 "to just give a quarter inch border. I attaches a pretty gross grain ribbon from the Petals and Paisleys range and attached it to the back of the layer and across the middle to form a ban . I then heat embossed Stampin' Up! velum with copper embossing powder. I chose the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and chose the two monarch pattern butterflies stamping both using embossing ink. After heat embossing the butterflies I then punched them out with the co-ordinating punches Bitty Butterfly and Elegant butterfly. Lastly I stamped a pretty sentiment, taken from Flourishing phrases stamp set, using embossing ink and then heat set using the copper embossing ink . The sentiment was then punched out using the decorative label punch and edged gently with crumb cake ink. The sentiment was attached using Stampin' Up! dimensional, and the velum butterflies using mini glue dots ... I think the result is quite pretty and elegant ...
I haven't quite figure out how to add a supplies list to my blog yet. I really am quite technically challenged I need a word with some experts I think . But I shall leave a link for you to browse the catalogue online via my Stampin' Up! website . I hope you will go over to my Youtube and check out the tutorial and have a try at this yourself . Remember if you don't have the exact supplies BUY THEM !! ha ha ha ha I'm just kidding you can easily change it up to fit what supplies you do have . The main thing is to have fun .. here are the links have a fantastic day xxx Amanda
