Beginners envelope flip album

One reason I love crafting is the concept of making something from nothing. Envelope mini albums are just that ... making something from just bits and bobs. I love the simplicity of these types of mini albums and how they are achievable for any level of crafter..if I can do it anyone can.

So i took five Stampin' Up! C6 size envelopes to create my flip book. Matting and layering each one and thinking up ways to add photo mats and tuck spots while keeping it simple. Each envelope is fixed together using washi tape, a common way of constructing these and why they are so quick and easy to do ...no bingo system YAYYYY !

These are a great way to practice techniques and improve on your planning before tackling a bigger project. I incorporated ideas on mine I had seen used by prolific and talented album makers on YouTube.

The little album I made has space for 15 large photos ... not bad for an envelope flip book. It all folds up nice and neat and ties at the from with some elastic and a button. A frugal creation I just used papers from my crafty hoard... come on well all have a hoard Im not the only one I am sure... So why not get creating and try one of these yourself ?

I do have a full step by step instructional video on how this was put together so you can follow along. Measurements are below for matting and layering to make it simpler for you...remember my measurements go with my Stampin' Up! C6 envelopes you may need to adjust to suit your own envelopes ion they differ from mine. So grab a brew, get comfy and enjoy the video.

  2. I've made a few of the mini flip things from the other week. I wanted to make one for a friend but was unhappy with the colours of washi tape I had. Am sure everyone knows this trick but i'm new to t and very happy with it. stuck one side of double sided tape on some white tissue paper, lightly dabbed som crumb cake ink on it and then stamped some flourishes in black and over stamped some feathers in crumbcake. peeled off the backing and used as home made washi tape. It matched my papers and colour scheme exactly and seems more permanent than standard washi tape. However, the little baggies of goodies will be taped on with normal washi. Going to try an envelope thingy now. xx

    1. you can also make washi using old book paper or sewing pattern paper you might have stamped on :) I do that a lot, place the double sided tape on the paper row by row, then tear them apart do NOT cut them to separate the strips, it works better if you tear it, and there you have lovely washi tape :)
