I was doing really well ... The perpetual Christmas card club

For the whole year now ...(well since last Christmas) my friend Kim and I have run a Facebook group called The Perpetual Christmas Card Club. The idea behind setting it up was to create cards every week all year round then come Christmas 2017 we would all be ready with our arms full of cards. Great idea right ???

Great in theory!! I think I managed two all year, I am such a big failure. We have however, sent out themes week in and week out and ladies have crafted away all year long and really enjoyed it ...even making Christmas cards in the glorious summer time.

As Christmas is now far more imminent ... yes like it or not it will be here fast !.... I have sat my naughty self down and had a bit of a talk to myself. I HAVE to stick to the challenges from here on in AND I shall have to make up for the weeks I told myself Christmas was ages away and I would catch up ... next week. The weeks have well and truly caught up on me ..sigh!

So here is my card for this week... the theme was " Gingerbread". Well if I am honest it was supposed to be paper piercing but with Kim away on holiday I took the executive decision to swap it ...shhhh she will never know !!!!

I used retired papers left over from last year and the ever popular Cookie Cutter bundle from Stampin' Up! This was a HUUUUGE hit last year and has carried over to the Annual catalogue and so is still available.

I stamped and cut two gingerbread shapes using a Kraft card and crumb cake ink. I punched out the bows separately onto white card so I could colour them better. Placing the bows on the gingerbread shapes to make one look like a boy and one like a girl really is a cute idea... not mine in origin ..but still cute. I decorated the boy with pearl buttons and the girl with pink crystal gems. I think they look adorable.

So I have shared dark secret now and my failure to keep up with the Perpetual Christmas card club and here by swear I shall do it every week ...Brownies honour ...and yes I do remember the whole of the Brownie Guide law. Tuesday blog shall now be my marker so you can follow along, maybe follow each weeks theme or even come on over to Facebook and join us and keep me on my toes. here is a link to the group >> https://www.facebook.com/groups/768959146575859/

Happy Christmas card making xxxx Amanda
