Mix it up Monday...

Happy Monday everyone and a fab bank holiday here in the UK so we get an extra family day which is awesome. Today I made this card super early. I don't always make things ahead of time rather I choose to make most the same day you see them ...Im not good at being prepared. Today I felt like doing a soft girly card aiming for a slightly shabby chic feel. I LOVE shabby chic this falls back from my time when I only crafted using lace and fabric and never really did paper crafts.

So Here I come several products. Hardwood is the name of the large background stamp which gives the stunning wood grain effect. This stamp is available and is carrying over. I also used Layering love which is a great set doe statement sentiments , again available and carrying over. However Grateful bunch stamp and Blossom bunch punch are retiring but are still available and at a great price. I did use Botanical builder dies just for the leaves. I will continue to use this die and they can take any of my retired punches from my cold dead hands.. they are mine and i am NEVER parting with them. I have sharing issues when it comes to my SU punches.

I kept my colour choices simple picking Sahara sand and sweet sugarplum, pear pizzas for the leaves and very vanilla to compliment. I added a doily beneath my flowers to add a girly feel and I did gently dab the outer edge of the card with a basic white acrylic paint. This has given a soft shabby almost chalky look and I absolutely adore it. I added to the shabby feel by ripping my background paper and adding my sentiment in a curved crumpled way. In total I think it gives a lovely soft look.

There is a youtube tutorial to go with this card showing step by step how it was made. click the link below and sit back relax and watch ... Enjoy your day and happy stampin x Amanda
