Inky masking fun with Dragonfly dreams

Todays card was initially inspired be another demo named Kate Bolt who I saw do a similar background using sponge brayers. Hugely inspired I wanted to have a play but didn't have the brayers... so I improvised and used my Stampin' Up! sponges. Using a die cut from the delicate dragonfly thinlits I set about layering Mint macaron and Bermuda bay ink using my die as a stencil. I then layered over using the Dragonfly details stamp set and using my Bermuda bay ombre ink pad to give a graduated effect.

I then decided hey lets not waste the stencil and adhered it to the card after dabbing Temtping turquoise on the wing tips. Finishing with a sentiment from the set and matting on Mint macaron glitter paper and a very vanilla card base, the card was complete. I absolutely loved this technique and will be using it time and time again .

for a full tutorial please check out this Youtube video created for you to follow along step by step ... Have fun and get inky xx Amanda

  1. Just watched and enjoyed your tutorial on dragonfly using the Sell-a-Bration's glitter paper. Have a suggestion, if I may, why not cut the center of the glitter paper out since no one will see it anyway? You could save a 5" X 3 3/4" piece of the glitter paper for another card. Seems a waste under all that card. What do you think?
