File box and dividers for Memories and MORE

Storage solutions are often a huge focus for crafters. We purchase fantastic items to create with but often get stuck when it comes to storage solutions. Here I solved my latest storage problem... how to store my new and beloved collection of Memories and More cards. I wanted a solution I could store, categorise and be able to thumb through easily. I chose this simple idea. Not a new concept by a long shot but I adapted it to suit my needs and with my customised measurements to fit the memories and more cards with the large ones on their side. I also created tab top file organisers so i can write the names of the cards to find each suite with ease.

I adore this solution it is so simple and inexpensive...I am sure I will create more as my collection grows. All I needed was one sheet of 12 x 12 card stock and one sheet of 12 x 12 DSP ...I had lots of DSP spare too from this sheet.

I also love how this could be used for your cards which we all make on mass . each divider should indicate a card topic ..ie birthday, tanks you and so on. This makes this particular project versatile for Memories and MORE ...

There is a step by step video tutorial to follow so you can follow along and make this file box. Measurements are listed below for your convenience. If you wish to purchase any Memories and more cards simply visit the shop page above or click the shop link to the right... for now grab a brew get comfy and enjoy the tutorial....

Happy stamping xxx Amanda

measurements:-

Cut card to 11 3/4 x 9"
On the long side score at 2 3/4" and 9"
On the short side score at 2" and 4 3/4"
turn the card so the smaller scored section faces the top ... if your unsure watch the video.... score at 2" and 9 3/4" but only down to the second score line NOT the whole way to the bottom.
cut and assemble the box as per instructional video it is necessary to watch this to see how to measure and cut the sloped sides.

You can layer with card and dsp to strengthen the box if required

Card layer ( front) 5 3/4 x 1 1/2"  dsp layer ( front) 5 1/2 x 1 1/4"
Card Layer ( back) 5 3/4 x 3 3/4" dsp layer ( back) 5 1/2 x 3 1/2"
Card layer ( sides) 3 1/2 x 2 1/2" these need to be cut to  slant on one side you can measure I did it by eye dsp layer ( sides) 3 1/4 x 2 1/4" again I cut the slant by eye

File cards:-
Cut at 6 1/8 x 4 1/2" using envelope punch board line to 2" then punch cut away excess to revel the tab. Further instruction is on the video tutorial. This can be done by hand or using another form of tab for example the circle tab punch from Stampin' Up!

  3. And if you want to go a bit geeky use a protractor to measure the angle on your soda then just replicate it on the mats 😊
